Materials · Elastomer selection guide

The right compound for every environment.

EPDM is our core compound, used for around 95% of our profiles including our marine fenders. Every profile is compounded in-house, so other elastomers are available when the application calls for them.

Material Temp. range Key strengths Typical applications
EPDM Ethylene Propylene Core compound · 95% Temp.−40 to 120 °C StrengthsExcellent weather, ozone, UV, saltwater and impact resistance; long outdoor life ApplicationsMarine fenders, dock bumpers, marine seals, glazing & curtain-wall seals, HVAC gaskets
Silicone VMQ Temp.−60 to 200 °C StrengthsWidest temperature range; food-grade options available ApplicationsPackaging machinery, ovens, lighting, cleanrooms
Neoprene CR Temp.−30 to 100 °C StrengthsBalanced oil & weather resistance; flame retardant ApplicationsMarine seals, HVAC, edge guards
Nitrile NBR Temp.−30 to 100 °C StrengthsSuperior resistance to oils, fuels and greases ApplicationsUnder-hood seals, machinery, rubber packing
SBR Styrene Butadiene Temp.−40 to 90 °C StrengthsGood abrasion resistance; cost-effective ApplicationsGeneral sealing, impact & wear strips
Natural Rubber NR Temp.−50 to 80 °C StrengthsHigh resilience, tear strength and rebound ApplicationsAnti-vibration mounts, cushioning, impact pads

Typical values for standard compounds. Hardness, colour and special grades (flame-retardant, food-contact, sponge) available on request.

From sample to supply

Custom profile development

Not sure which compound you need? Send us the operating conditions and we’ll recommend one, then prove it with prototype lengths before production.

  1. Step 01

    Share

Send a drawing, CAD file, spec sheet or physical sample.

  2. Step 02

    Engineer

We select the compound and design the extrusion die.

  3. Step 03

    Prototype

Sample lengths are produced for fit and function approval.

  4. Step 04

    Produce

    Batch production with profile-projector inspection.

Start your project

Send us a drawing, CAD file or sample. We’ll engineer the seal.

Tell us the application, operating conditions and quantities. Our team will recommend the compound and develop your profile from prototype to production.
